Meet Life's Journey Counseling's Founder

Jodi Huebner

MA, LPC, CFMHC

I truly believe that life is an experience meant to be authentically lived. Experience has taught me that life is short and that if desired, we each of the opportunity and responsibility to build an authentic, deep and rich life. I am grateful to serve others who choose to learn about themselves and make choices to create the lives they want to lead versus being 1EM-15PO-FH participants to life.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. My first career was in Early Childhood Education Administration and Training and Development. My life path continued to ebb and flow and took me to the place of opportunity where I returned to school to obtain my Master's Degree in Counseling from Lakeland College in 2006.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has a wide variety of experiences working in the behavioral health field. I am an entrepreneur at heart and have developed many behavioral health programs. I have served patients on an Adult Mental Health Day Treatment Unit where I was able to develop and facilitate the Intensive Outpatient Program. In 2010 I began a behavioral health program which was imbedded in a hospital based cancer center. I was privileged to companion cancer patients and their families through individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. I also worked to develop psychotherapy groups for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients as well as patients who are living with a terminal illness and their caregivers. My entrepreneurial spirit has been fulfilled by the work I do in my private practice which I opened in 2006. In 2015 I began my wellness practice, Life's Journey Wellness. In 2017 I returned to school via the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy for a one year in-depth program to further understand the mind-body workings and healings through the lens of Functional Medicine. I earned my certification as a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach.

I am a holistic counselor who serves a variety of clients by working from a mind body approach using physical experiences to explore emotions as well as how patterns of the mind affect the body. I view the mind and body as one system with intertwining microsystems. My additional training and focuses are: personal growth, acute and chronic health issues, dealing with the stressors of cancer, mindfulness, life transitions, stress management, relationship issues, depression and anxiety. In addition to professional counseling I offer Mindfulness in the form of workshops, classes, and private sessions for individuals, couples and families. I also have training and experience in facilitating Mandala sessions for groups and for individuals.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family ~ my husband and two adult children, our grandpuppy Mona, as well as those who are our extended family by blood and by choice. I am an avid reader and I enjoy everything outdoors. Camping, hiking, and kayaking are some of my favorite ways to find peace and quiet for my soul. I consider the work I do a calling and view it as a role of servitude. I believe in and advocate for the rights of every human being. It is my honor and awe to work with each client who trusts me to join with them on their journey.
